Brett started writing this song when we lived together in college around 2010, or maybe before that. We demoed it at the Fire Station in San Marcos, and we sat on it. And it bothered me for years. I thought this was one of Brett's best songs; I thought the middle section was hauntingly beautiful. Finally, in 2017 we decided to travel up to Dallas to work with Alex Bhore, whom we had worked with on an earlier EP in 2012. He helped us get the sounds we'd been searching for; production that in our ears reminded us of the bands that helped inspire us to write this type of music. After it was mixed, we sent it to Alan Douches, who has mastered some of our favorite records.

It took us almost 7 years to see this song through, but I think for me it was worth the effort. This is one of the songs I'm most proud to be attached to.
